In 1919, brothers Jim and Steve Macris emigrated from Greece to Western Pennsylvania's Shenango Valley. They chose to name their business Philadelphia Candies because in their native Greek language the name means "candies made with brotherly love." Years later, Jim and Steve were joined by brothers Louis and John to make and sell their fine chocolates.Today, the Macris family still operates Philadelphia Candies with the same commitment to excellence as our founders.
